Counseling Program
From Second Step lessons in the classroom to one-on-one support when a student needs it, our Counseling Corner connects families with the care and resources behind IEA's counseling program.
Counseling Corner
Welcome to IEA's Counseling Corner, where you can find information on the counseling resources available at IEA and in the community — counseling services, what students are learning during SEL lessons, and resources for parents.

Classroom Lessons
IEA uses the Second Step Social-Emotional Learning program to help students build the skills they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally — understanding and managing emotions, developing positive relationships, solving problems, making responsible decisions, and showing empathy and respect for others.
Learn more about Second Step →Group Counseling
Short-term, targeted small groups support students in developing social-emotional and academic skills, formed around specific needs such as emotional regulation, friendship and social skills, executive functioning, and coping strategies.
Individual Counseling
Students may be referred for short-term individual counseling (4–6 visits) for extra support with a specific skill, such as coping strategies, growth mindset, or friendship skills. School counselors don't diagnose, and can refer families to community resources when more support is needed.
